We are big fans of the classic film noir and silent film genres. We feel that the low key black and white visuals, lack of dialogue and reliance on mise-en-scene are very effective and this is something we would like to incorporate into our own work. In order to gain inspiration and ideas we studied the work of notable directors such as Alfred Hitchcock, Fritz Lang and Stanley Kubrick. We also looked at classic films such as Schindler's list. There are many visual effects in Schindler's list which we would like to use in our own work. The work of Charlie Chaplin was also a major influence, he was a pioneer of the silent film genre so it was only natural for us to study his work in order to get ideas.
